Me: Yeah, it's going to be suspenseful
Co-Worker: I hope they call North Carolina soon.
Me: I know, if he wins North Carolina you'll know he's won Virginia, and it's pretty much over.
Co-Worker: Do you think he'll win NC?
Me: If he doesn't, he'll be within 5 points. I don't think he'll win Georgia though.
Co-Worker: Of COURSE he won't win Georgia! It's a southern state?
Me: UM [begins spouting off statistics about Georgia's black electorate and how total increase in the state is increasing and what that means]
Co-Worker: Whatever, I just want them to call Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Florida so I can go to bed
Me: Why those three?
Co-Worker: Well he needs those to win.
Me: Not really. If he wins all the Kerry states plus Virginia and Iowa he's got it.
Co-Worker: What do you mean Kerry states?
Me: All the ones Kerry won in '04. California, Oregon--
Co-Worker: I don't need to know all of them.
Me: Oh, ok bc I was really about to list them all.
Co-Worker: I could tel. Anyway, I just want them to call those three.
Me: Well like I said, if he wins all the Kerry states plus Virginia and Iowa he's got it. And he's going to win Iowa, which is 7 electoral votes. Or Virginia, Colorado and New Mexico. Or Iowa, Colorado, and New Mexico.
Co-Worker: Why do you keep talking about Colorado? It's like 3 votes.
Me: Actually, it's 9.
Co-Worker: You need a life.
Me: I know.....
